In this unique collaboration, the two artists have found materials and subject matter that convey something quite indescribable! Sometimes humorous, and sometimes quite romantic, they should be viewed in person to appreciate their deep textures and extraordinary detail.
Most of the art is on stretched canvas, but some pieces are on alderwood (hardwood) with treated surface. The three-dimensional elements in the art are mainly of treated cloth that is hardened to a completely stiff state with epoxy and various resins. Epoxy resin also creates the glossy surface that has been painted over using oil paints with fast-drying alkyd.
The cloth is in most cases blue jeans, although sometimes clouds may be from T-shirts or flowers may be from dresses. Some of the art has polished traventine or polished onyx (stone) incorporated that suggests cliffs or mesas or stones on a beach.
