THE RAVENS    48” wide x 50” high     The black clothes represent the artist, who has old artist's brushes sticking out of a pocket of the pants.  This is literally a "painting within a painting."  The canvas with the single raven on it is attached to the alderwood that forms the basis of the artwork.  There are also jeans at the bottom of the canvas for depicting ground.

THE SPIRIT OF VINCENT  48”wide x 60” high (plus 22” hangs down from bottom / 16” wide)   This tribute to Vincent van Gogh, with the swirls of "Starry Night" on the shirt, uses a man's shirt, a yellow hat (Vincent depicts himself in a yellow hat in several self-portraits), and blue-jeans appropriately paint-splattered for an artist.

WINDOWSILL ROSES 28” wide x 40” high    The dozen roses in the bouquet in the vase, and the white decorative stick-like objects coming up from the vase, are all made with stiffened clothing, and these three-dimensional elements are fixed to the canvas that depicts the view through the window behind the flowers.

The mesa is polished stone.  Part of the land mass is jeans.  The work is on alderwood.

MEDITATION    48” x 48”   This work that has stiffened clothes in a meditation posture also incorporates a gold-painted pine-cone that is fixed approximately where the pineal gland would be located.  With its suggestions of the yogis of the frozen Himalayas, it incorporates the "colors of the chakras" that rise up the spine in the yogic, Hindu tradition.
